Plant Trees in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is one of the world's poorest countries but also one of the most populous and densely populated. Muslim Hands has been working in the country since 1995 and one of our current projects is the Tree Plantation Scheme.
More so than almost anywhere else in the world, trees such as the banyan, big mango, fruit and other forest/jungle varieties play a large part in people's lives and have a profound impact on the environment.
The trees not only provide food, medicine and timber for homes and other uses, they also provide employment for landless labourers and good protection during the frequent rainstorms and hurricanes. Tree roots also help provide stability to the soil and prevent land- and mud-slides in a country that is often the scene of flooding.
Muslim Hands Bangladesh will plant tree saplings in your or a loved one's names. The saplings are provided to poor and needy individuals and are an excellent form of sadaqa jariya (continuous charity).
Plant your trees today using the form above!
Muslim Hands' fruit tree plantation scheme is carried out in Bangladesh by our MH Bangladesh field office, headquartered in Dhaka.
