Shelter Homes Scheme

To date, your generous donations for South Asia Earthquake relief work have totalled over £1,700,000. Muslim Hands has used this money to provide shelter for tens of thousands of people, provide medical care, warm clothing and blankets, temporary schools and housing, and to assist civil reconstruction works.

Work is ongoing and will continue to help survivors through the harsh winter and then to rebuild their lives. The footage here, taken by MH aid workers in Pakistan, shows some of the work carried out and ongoing projects.

The earthquake which hit Pakistan and Kashmir on 8th October, 2005 was the strongest in the region for 100 years. Around 80,000 people were killed and 4 million left homeless.

MH teams had mobilised within hours and the next day aid began flowing into affected areas. This video shows some of the work your support has enabled MH Pakistan to carry out, and the scale of the task that reamains. This video contains footage some may find disturbing.

On the 26th December 2004, South East Asia was hit by a massive tsunami that caused the world's worst natural disaster in living memory. Over 300,000 people lost their lives and millions were left homeless and without livelihood.

Muslim Hands were, alhamdulillah, amongst the first on the ground, providing aid to thousands of victims. This video highlights some of the work Muslim Hands carried out in Indonesia, and shows the extent of the devastation there.
