MHIMP

What is IMP?

The It's My Project or IMP scheme was launched in 2003 by Muslim Hands. It allows you as a donor to fund and carry out your very own charitable project, either individually or together with friends or your organisation. Projects are executed on your behalf by Muslim Hands and you receive a personal feedback report with details of the project and the people helped. For construction and similar such projects, at you request a commemorative plaque will also be placed on-site.

How It Works

IMP projects are essentially of two types: (i) you can either choose a project along the lines of ones we have carried out in the past or, typically for larger projects, (ii) you can develop your own idea and utilise Muslim Hands' skills and expertise. In both cases the project is your's with Muslim Hands simply acting as the executor. Muslim Hands has carried out both types of project, ranging from £250 schemes to £500,000 purpose-built schools and accommodation for orphans.

Shortly after the completion of your project you will receive a feedback report with details of the project. See the IMP Examples and Case Studies below for further details on the types of project the scheme encompasses and for some example feedback reports.

Visiting my own project changed my life as it has helped me realise how I, as an individual, was able to help a whole community.

Examples and Case Studies

Gaza Food Distribution In Ramadhan 2007 food packages were distributed to 1,000 families in the Gaza Strip as an IMP. A simple yet effective way to help those most in need, food aid is an even greater act of merit during the blessed month of Ramadhan.
Orphans Village, Pakistan The Orphans Village is MH's most ambitious IMP project to date, costing over half a million pounds with 56,000 square foot of building, in Phase One, over an area of 5 acres. The Orphans Village will include a School of Excellence and be home to some 500 young boys and girls.
Refurbishment of Little Moon Kindergarten The Little Moon Kindergarten in Baghdad was refurbished as an IMP following the war. It now provides a safe place where children can escape the conflict in a clean and well-equipped environment.
