About Green Ribbon Week

The Muslim Hands Green Ribbon Week is an annual initiative to increase awareness about the plight of innocent children of war and to raise funds to help suffering children all over the world.

From helping landmine victims in Afghanistan to providing sports equipment for school children in West Africa, Green Ribbon Week will help better the lives of thousands of children worldwide.

Each year thousands of shops and businesses sell Muslim Hands Green Ribbons, and numerous fundraising events take place in schools, mosques and places of work up and down the country.

Green Ribbon Week 2009: What's Coming Up

Following the successful year of Green Ribbon Week in 2008 we hope to make this year's event even bigger and better, and in doing so to help even more children affected by war.

Now is the time to start thinking of how you can help us. Whether it's placing a box of ribbons in your shop or business, holding a Green Ribbon event at your school, mosque or workplace, or doing something sponsored, get your thinking cap on to help innocent children of war!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Why not do something sponsored like a walk, bike ride or even parachute jump? We'll help and provide opportunities, just register below.
  • If you're a teacher or parent ask your school if they'd like to have a non-uniform day, cake sale or other Green Ribbon Week event. Schools plan well in advance so ask early!
  • Spread the word and help raise money with a poster or box in your shop or business. Register now so we can contact you in time. It's easy and hassle free.
  • Get together with friends and family to plan how you can support Green Ribbon Week and help support innocent children of war.
