MH for Kids
Calling All Kids!
Do you want to help make a difference? I mean a real difference?
Do you want to help the millions of kids who can't afford to go to school? Do you want to help the millions of kids who are hungry but are thankful for all they have? And… do you want to have fun at the same time?
You Can!
You can help us in our fight against world poverty. Raise money at school, in your neighbourhood, at the mosque, from family and friends. Organise a sponsored fun run, car wash or no-uniform day at school. Spread the word about Muslim Hands and our work tackling poverty: get your friends and family involved. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
A POEM: ASK NOT
I am famished, you have food in the belly.
I am naked, you are clothed.
I am homeless, you have a home.
How could we have the same way of life?
Ask not my craggy alpine peaks
Their shivering stones are smarting.
Leave the wailing trees alone.
Avoid the flowers, their limbs grief stricken.
Ask not the gentle breeze, ask not.
-- Written by Ditty, a 12 year old Afghan orphan
Getting Started
If you want to find out more about what we do or want to organise your own fundraising event get in touch. We can help you choose a project to fundraise for, help your organise it and for specific projects even give you feedback on how your money was spent.
Below are some ideas to get your started. Of course, your ideas will be much better so remember to send us in your pictures!
-
Jumble or car boot sale
Get your school or class to organise a car boot sale. Bring in bits and bobs (no junk) from home and sell them at your school. From computer games to flower pots, anything can be sold if you try! -
Throw an Eid party
Throw an Eid party and invite all your family and friends. Ask the party goers for a donation and remember the suffering of children around the world. -
Car wash
Organise a sponsored car wash. Find a good spot (school yard?) and use balloons and flags to attract cars. Sponsored car washes make great fundraisers. -
No-uniform day
Ask your headteacher to hold a no-uniform day in aid of children. Every student pays a little to not wear uniform and together your school can raise money.
A Little Goes a Long Way…
Hey, did you know that in many of the world's poorest places it costs less than a chocolate bar a day to feed a child or orphan? For less than a can of drink and packet of crisps a child can go to school and help themselves get a good job for themselves and their family.
A wise person always counts their pennies and every penny counts
Why not set aside a portion of your pocket money to help your brothers and sisters
around the world. Just imagine: if you cut down on sweets and fizzy drinks you
could use the money saved to help the poor (and you'll be a lot healthier too!).

- Emergency Relief
The world we live in is full of inequality. When conflict or natural disasters occur, countries that are not economically developed are usually unable to cope with and recover from destruction.
