Waqf Fund
The modern face of a great Muslim tradition

Waqf donations are invested with Islamic Bank of Britain, an institution dedicated to providing halal investments and banking based on Shariah principles.
The word waqf is used to define a charitable donation in the form of money, property or other items of value, which are used to bring a return, but which cannot be disposed of or spent. Hence a waqf donation keeps on giving year on year, making it a prime form of sadaqah jariah (continuous charity).
- A Waqf Fund share costs 660 € and includes a lifetime administration charge of 60 €.
- Shares can be paid for at once or in 12 installments of 55,20 € / month.
- There are 5 waqf funds available if you wish to support a particular project -- though your gift will be most effective if left 'Where Most Needed'.
- You will receive a Share Certificate once you have paid for a share.
- You can also leave a legacy to the MH Waqf Fund in your will. Find out more.
Waqf uses Trust Law to protect the charitable donation, so that it can never be sold or owned by anyone, and is left to continue benefiting the people the donor intended.
This approach was first encouraged by the Prophet (saws) when Umar (ra) asked him, "Oh Prophet of Allah, I have valuable land in Khaibar, what do you wish I do with it?" The Prophet (saws) replied, "Give its benefits (profits) to charity whilst ensuring that it can no longer be sold nor bought nor be given away."
The Muslim Hands Waqf Fund allows the donor to rest assured that their donations are placed into a profitable yet low risk investment fund. The investment funds we have carefully selected are of course halal and ethical, in accordance with Islamic law. The profits from these funds are then used to help the poor and needy through various charitable projects which you will have selected, e.g. orphans or where most needed; the actual investment is left untouched so that it can generate further profits in the future.
