Over 600 people have been killed and almost a million more displaced in post-election violence that has engulfed Kenya.
The violence has been worst in the poorest areas of Eldoret and Kisumu, which have been turned into ghost towns with homes burnt and shops looted. However, almost the entire country has been affected in one way or another with disruption to food supplies and the closure of shops, pharmacies and schools affecting millions of people.
Fearing for their lives, displaced families are living in schools, police stations and open ground, without access to medicine, clean water, sanitation and food.
What We're Doing
Relief Teams from MH Kenya have begun distribution of food, water and basic medicine in Kibera and Mathare Valley in Nairobi.
Muslim Hands has launched an urgent appeal to raise further funds so this vital aid work can continue.
