Details: Muslim Hands is a UK-based international relief organisation working in over 40 countries worldwide.

The charity is seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual to fill the role of IT Manager, based at the Nottingham head office but involving occasional travel to London, Paris and South Africa.

As the IT Manager you will be working alongside the Data Manager and Web Manager and be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day maintenance of the physical and software IT infrastructure including: servers, PCs, storage, networking, backups, telephony, printers etc.

  • Strategic planning of how the organisation can best utilise IT and the implementation of such plans.

  • Supporting 40 end users split between Nottingham, London and Paris. This includes troubleshooting and administration of desktop PCs and laptops.

  • Infrastructure within and VPN connectivity with branch offices in London, Paris, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Some of the technologies you will be working with are:

  • Server 2008 / Active Directory / Group Policy / DFS

  • Exchange 2007

  • Windows Vista

  • iSCSI SAN

  • PPTP VPN / NPS

  • BackupExec

  • Leased Lines

  • Oracle

  • Asterisk PBX / IP Telephony

Successful candidates will possess the following skills / experience:

  • Deep knowledge of core technologies such as Server 2008 administration, Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, SAN, networking etc.

  • At least 2 years experience in managing a 50-100 user network and integrating branch offices.

  • Hardware troubleshooting and upgrades as well as software installation upgrades and patch management.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to assist non-technical users in a friendly, appropriate manner.

  • A strong ability to guide technical investment aligned with the wider objectives and constraints of the charity.

  • Self-motivation and self-management.

Applicants must possess a UK driving licence and have a willingness to travel within the UK and overseas when needed.

Possession of MCP and other professional certifications would be highly advantageous.
