Orphan Sponsorship
Muslim Hands' One-to-One Orphan Sponsorship Scheme is by far one of the most popular ways of helping poor and needy individuals and families. Muslim Hands donors are currently supporting over 4,000 orphans in 21 of the world's poorest countries.
The Orphan Sponsorship Scheme is designed to assist orphans and their families in both the short and long term. A portion of your sponsorship money is given to the orphan and their family to help towards living and housing costs. Moreover, by enabling a child to receive a sound level of education you empower them to build for themselves a brighter future and to provide for their family too.
How It Works
For only £27 per month the requirements for a child to receive a sound level of care and education are provided. This includes the provision of:

All orphans sponsored by the scheme are individually selected by Muslim Hands staff at our various international offices in the developing world. Only poor orphans (an orphan is a child whose father has passed away) are selected. A child's age, family size and living conditions are also looked at to assess need. Once sponsorship has begun our trained staff continue to maintain regular contact with the child to ensure wellbeing and that the child continues to progress through school.
Upon sponsorship we will send you an information pack with details of the orphan you are sponsoring, such as their age, circumstance, schooling, information about their community and a local address for correspondence. In addition, MH will continue to provide you with annual feedback updates on the child's wellbeing and school reports.
Questions?
Can I choose the child I sponsor? Will I be informed of my orphan's progress? What happens if I can no longer afford to sponsor a child? Can I correspond with my sponsored child? Answers to these and many similar questions can be found in the Sponsorship Schemes Frequently Asked Questions.
